The Lakes Area Museum Alliance announces a new program, "Night at the Museum with Lucy Llama," launching Thursday, January 30, from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Winchester Store Museum.
As the first museum to be highlighted in this new series, the Winchester Store Museum will kick off this monthly event, which will showcase one of thirteen Dickinson County Museums on the last Thursday of each month. Visitors will enjoy guided tours, refreshments, and exclusive "behind the scenes" looks at prized artifacts.
The Winchester Store Museum offers a unique glimpse into Depression-era America through its extraordinary collection of Winchester hardware store items. The museum recreates the original Winchester Store that operated in Spirit Lake during the 1920s, making it the only display of its kind in the nation. From canoes and firearms to household goods, the museum's authentic recreation transports visitors back to this fascinating period in American retail history.
